I won't be a kid forever,
So I'll write these words down now
To remind myself later of who I used to be.
What the future has in store is way beyond me.
So I'll jot these words down into my notebook, and I'll skim over them later.
I'll board this night-time train and watch out my window as the pitch black sky rolls by...Little crystal stars dot this back-drop...(I'll miss them) But when I awake at dawn, morning colors are there to greet me.(I remind myself to breathe)
Soft hues and baby blues...firey orange and brilliant gold...when I wake up.. I almost forget to breathe...
My soul will never grow old...
I take this night-time train down to the soul of Concord...the heart of Chicago...then through the concrete veins of my hometown...
I'm a citizen of the world, with a promise that will not soon be forgotten.
